General Questions:
I'm new to hockey. What equipment is needed to play?
Here's a list of the gear you'll need to get your child, or yourself, in the game:
Required Gear for Goalies: All of the above plus throat guard, girdle, chest protector, and goalie pads (leg pads, catcher and blocker)
Where can I buy hockey gear?
Pure Hockey and Hockey Monkey are popular retailers for new inline hockey gear. Dick's Sporting Goods may fit some of your needs but isn't typically a "one stop shop" for roller. Secondhand equipment can often be purchased in great condition, we recommend SidelineSwap.com. TVIHA also has a storage bin with donated gear, which can save your wallet a pretty penny if you can find what you need in the right size. If you're interested in checking out TVIHA's gear, please email RinkManager@TVIHA.com to set up a day and time.
Do you have a code for Mission Vista Charter School students?
Yes, we do! If registering with Mission Vista Academy Charter School, please contact Kaila Stephens via text at 951.807.0816 or e-mail at Registration@tviha.com for a registration code.
Are sibling discounts available?

What does the "U" in the division name mean?
The "U" in the division name stands for "Under". For example, 6U is for players who are 6 and under. Girls can be one year older than the division age. Players are placed in divisions based on their assessed skill level.
Are players required to attend the assessments? When is the next one?
Spring Season Assessments for all divisions (including 6U) will be held on February 1st and 2nd, 2025. Times TBD. Players only need to attend ONE assessment day, not both. It is very important that players show up for their assessment, as it helps to ensure parity among teams. TVIHA does its best to make teams as fair and equal as possible.
What happened to the School League?
The JV and Varsity "School League" was replaced by the Advanced Division in Fall 2024 due to several reasons, including:
The Advanced Division was a huge success, and we are excited to continue with this format moving forward. In addition, we have decided to discontinue the Middle and Elementary "School Leagues" for the winter season as well. Instead, beginning in the spring of 2025, we will focus on our Premier Division, which has proven to be both competitive and effective for these age groups.
Questions Regarding the Spring 2025 Season:
What's going on with the Ronald Reagan rink?
The Ronald Reagan Sports Park rink will be undergoing some very exciting renovations starting at the beginning of the year. New installations will include sport court flooring, a roof, and brand new boards! This huge project is slated to start at the beginning of 2025 and take 6 months. During this time, our league will be sharing the rink at Margarita Community Park with two local roller derby organizations. TVIHA is committed to collaborating with these two groups to ensure adequate rink time for all.
What will January - June 2025 look like for TVIHA players?
Our "Spring pre-season" will involve one practice a week on Tuesdays or Thursdays, by age group for 8 weeks, along with occasional scrimmages on Saturdays. This structure will help prepare players for the start of the spring season, which will begin in mid-March. We anticipate a spring division structured around 6U, 9U, 12U, Premier,13+, and Advanced divisions. If we don't have enough Advanced players registered, we will consider 14U and 17U divisions.
We are also looking into scheduling some Ironman games on one or two Saturdays during, but separate from, the pre-season, which we hope will be an exciting addition to the season.
Why did TVIHA change the division format? What happened to 8U and 10U?
The divisions for seasons moving forward (starting in January 2025) will be 6U, 9U, 12U, Premier, 13+ and Advanced (if enough Advanced players register for Spring.) Many of you may be wondering why this change was made. When the Premier division was added in the Fall of 2024, the remaining divisions were subsequently left with fewer teams. The Board of Directors decided to merge 8U and 10U as an effort to alleviate some of the 3 team divisions.
