Temecula Warriors Update:
The Warriors teams have been really busy the last 6 weeks participating in various tournaments run by the Western Inline Hockey League (WIHL), North American Roller Hockey Championship (NARCH) and the TORHS 2 Hot For Ice (TORHS) organizations. Our teams are competing at a high level and the relationships the players are making will hopefully last a lifetime.
In March the 8U team participated in their first NARCH tournament of the season. The team managed to get a tie vs. OC Marvel while dropping their other games. The experience will only help the group as they look forward to additional NARCH events. On April 6th our teams split in to 2 teams to play the WIHL event in Huntington Beach. As luck would have it Temecula Black and Temecula White tied their lone game 6-6.
The 12U squad has finished 2nd in all 3 of their tournaments the past 6 weeks. In early March the team played up in the 14U division earning silver in WIHL West Covina. Later last month the group went undefeated in pool play of the Huntington Beach NARCH Regional earning the #1 seed for the playoffs. After defeating the Renegades in a shootout the team dropped the final to the Angry Ducks. Last week the team drove up to Northern California to participate in the TORHS Sonora Regional. After finishing 4th in pool play the team upset the #1 seed Mission Mayhem in overtime 4-3 before dropping the final to the Norcal Jokers 3-2.
The 14U Black team began March with a semifinal lost in the WIHL tournament in West Covina. In the Huntington Beach NARCH tournament the group went undefeated in pool play before dropping their semifinal game. Last week the team captured the gold medal at the TORHS tournament in Sonora. After finishing 3rd in pool play the team knocked off NCR Elite from Northern California 4-3 in the semifinal before shutting out the Bend Bullets from Oregon 2-0 in the championship game.
The 14U Red team has only gotten in one tournament and that was back at West Covina in early March. The group had an up and down tournament and is still searching for its first win of the season. The chemistry and effort is coming around and it won't be long before the hard work starts producing results.
16U Warriors were idle for a while before playing WIHL in Huntington Beach last week. The team captured a few wins including the "A" division championship.
Next up is WIHL Irvine on April 20 and the NARCH Regional in Irvine, April 25-28. If you are in the area please come out and support the teams.
