Warriors Storm Winter Wars West

For the first time the Temecula Warriors participated in the Winter Wars tournament held by State Wars. The 3 day tournament was held this past weekend in Huntington Beach with 112 teams competing in ages 6U through 35+.

The Warriors brought 3 teams to compete in the tournament. The 10U Warriors went 1-3 in the event capturing their first win of the season on Friday 6-3 over the Raiders HC from Irvine. Aiden Briney, Blake Helie and Max Cooper each scored 2 goals in the team win.

The 14U Warriors went a perfect 4-0 in pool play before losing the "AA" semifinal in OT to the eventual tournament champion Konixx Nitrous from Northern California 3-2. Kenny Silhan was tied for the lead in overall scoring with 6 points in the 4 games of pool play while Kat Reyes was the top goaltender with a 1.25 GAA and a .878 save %.

The 16U Warriors also went a perfect 4-0 in pool play and captured the "A" division championship with a 6-4 victory over the Silicon Valley Quakes from Northern California. Cade Comer won the championship game MVP with a goal and an assist. Dillon Bilek lead the division in pool play scoring with 10 points in 4 games.

Next up for all of the Warriors teams is the NARCH event in Huntington Beach, March 20-22.
