I have been involved in TVIHA for more than 10 years now. The 17U division in the past was always a tough sell for the families. We had to beg and plead for some of the older kids to stick around and play. Thankfully the times have changed. We have 5 teams playing now and I can honestly say there has never been a group of kids that are close friends as a whole like the kids in this seasons 17u division. My only regret as an outsider was my daughter was injured and couldn't play.
The kids have gotten so good and the games are so fun to watch. It seemed like there was overtime every night. I know the Board was afraid a few teams would struggle but they ended up thriving and the team I expected to be near the top of the standings struggled all season. Well until the playoffs arrived.
In the end, the Warriors who were 2 seconds away from elimination vs. the Fighting Irish in the quarterfinals went on a 3 game run at the right time and defeated the Trojans 4-3 in the final. Congratulations to Coach Day and the team on an excellent playoffs and thank you to all of the players and coaches for a wonderful season.
I know I can speak for TVIHA when I say I hope most of you will be back to play in September.
