The Temecula Warriors (TVIHA's travel program) added 2 teams to the Warriors family at the Western Inline Hockey League (WIHL) kickoff tournament in Irvine this past weekend.

The 8U Warriors and the 14U Warriors "Red" saw their first action of the season and they handled themselves very well. The 8U Warriors won their first pool play game of the season beating the Rancho Cucamonga Firebirds 5-0. Unfortunately the team dropped their remaining games to the Corona Bulldogs Blue and Bulldogs White. The 14U Warriors dropped their first 3 games of pool play before tying their final pool play game 4-4 vs. the Labeda Jets. It was a good showing for both teams. We are so happy to welcome a bunch of new coaches, players and families to our program.

The 10U Warriors had a rough tournament dropping all of their games but they have a lot of ability on that team and are sure to get things straightened out sooner than later.

On Saturday the 14U Warriors "Black" won all 4 pool play games before defeating the Renegades 4-2 in the AA final. It is the 4th gold medal of the season for the team.

On Sunday the 12U Warriors won all 4 pool play games before capturing the gold in OT on a goal by Blake Ford against the Corona Bulldogs 3-2. It was the teams 3rd medal of the season and 2nd tournament championship.

On a final note we are extremely proud to say that we received an email from a parent of a competing team today that complemented our 12U team on their great sportsmanship. The opposing team lost all of their games in the tournament and were hearing a lot of trash talking and nasty things from some of the other teams players but our players were encouraging their opponents and complementing them on good plays. This parent made a $500 sponsorship to the 12U team because of how well are kids handle themselves on the rink.

TVIHA and the Warriors program has helped develop a lot of really good hockey players but we are producing even better people.

Next up for all 6 teams (16U team was idle this weekend) is the WIHL tournament in Corona, February 9 & 10. If you are in the area come on out and support the teams.
